Brian Hill
 Brian’s career path has found him leading volunteer teams in the Middle East, qualifying as a ski instructor, and being awarded a place at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst.
After the Army, Brian went on to have a very successful career in senior sales management and director level positions for a number of software companies such as TM Property Search, and Sage Software. In 2006, encouraged by his better half, Brian decided on a career change and, after qualifying, was invited to join IFA firm, The Independent Consultancy, based in central Trowbridge.
Brian is delighted at his growing, loyal client base who benefit from his broad business experience and his ability to find solutions to their financial goals. As a fully qualified independent financial adviser, Brian advises on retirement planning, divorce settlements and planning, savings and investments, mortgages and protection. Brian is also qualified to advise on Equity Release and Long Term Care and has successfully completed his Diploma in Financial Advice. Most of Brian’s time is spent with clients planning their future, which is immensely rewarding!
Jones Hill is pleased to appoint Brian as Managing Director of their new financial planning practice operating from the same offices as The Independent Consultancy. Brian’s role is to build the practice client base and the advising team.
A father of 3, Brian is married and lives a few minutes away from his Church Street offices – if you are up early enough, you may catch sight of him finishing at Contendor’s boxing gym around 7am! Brian skis competitively for Western Counties Ski team and plans to compete in the All England ski championships next season.

Martin Jones
 A fully qualified Financial Planner, Martin has been advising since 1989 and has a wealth of experience in diverse areas such as equity release, buy-to-let portfolios and pension transfers.
He is so busy he wouldn’t even give us any more information to put in here.

Lisa Hill
 Lisa’s career started off in law, working at the well-known firm of Sylvester Mackett where she was known, and possibly feared, for her attention to detail. The lure of foreign travel became too much however and Lisa then spent 3 years working in the USA.
In 1994 she returned to the UK and found what she thought would be a temporary job at IFA firm, The Independent Consultancy. 2005 saw Lisa being invited to become Partner in the business and, along with Martin Jones, purchased the business from the owner who was approaching retirement.
Lisa is a highly experienced and respected and fully qualified Financial Planner who now manages Jones Hill on a day-to-day basis.

David Rees
 Dave graduated from Cardiff University in 1996 with an honours degree in City & Regional Planning, and spent several years working in a successful estate agency with offices in Frome, Trowbridge, Midsomer Norton and others. Dave was subsequently invited to join Friends Provident to undertake his financial adviser training, which he successfully completed. In 2001 he decided to specialise in providing mortgage advice, and joined a national IFA as an independent mortgage adviser.
After four years, Dave decided to move away from a large high street name, and from 2005 worked with a smaller IFA practice as their specialist mortgage adviser in Frome and Chippenham. This not only gave him more time to spend looking after his clients, but also enhanced the range of services he was able to offer. During this time, Dave went on to complete the Advanced Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice to help him achieve this goal.
Dave has several hundred clients, not just locally, but stretching across the whole of the UK. His clients include property developers and professional landlords, as well as first time buyers and remortgage customers, who need help in finding the most suitable and competitive products available.
Dave has also developed exclusive business partnerships with a number of estate agencies and financial advisers across the South West.
In early 2009, Dave accepted an invitation from Jones Hill to continue his role as an independent mortgage specialist.

Peter Sykes
 Peter’s working life started as a mechanical engineer where he served his apprenticeship in the textile industry and used those skills into the pharmaceutical industry before joining the Police Force.
Peter’s career in the Police then found him as a Detective Officer working in a specialised unit operating nationwide on the theft of motor vehicles which have been ‘ringed’ to look like another vehicle. He was promoted within CID before retiring. In his time with the Police he also enjoyed being an Outward bound instructor working with Police Cadets and young people in the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District.
After retiring from the Police Force Peter had a very successful career as managing director of his own limited company with a portfolio of public houses all with food outlets and restaurants.
After selling his business he then went on to have a successful career in the insurance industry, becoming a senior sales manager and in 1997 he formed his own Appointed Representative Firm with a team of financial advisers. In 2000 Peter took the firm to Independent Financial Adviser status and continued with this until he was invited to join IFA firm, Jones Hill Ltd, based in central Trowbridge.
Peter has an expanding loyal client base who benefit from his broad business experience and his ability to find solutions to their financial goals. As a fully qualified independent financial adviser, Peter advises on planning, divorce settlements and planning, savings and investments, mortgages and protection.

Rachel Collett
 Having worked with large companies such as Halifax and Clerical Medical, Rachel had often dealt with financial planners over the 11 years she worked within financial services. The role of Client Case Manager is a key part of Jones Hill and one that Rachel enjoys immensely.
Rachel will often be clients’ day-to-day contact, and is currently studying towards her Certificate in regulated Customer Care before embarking on her Paraplanner training.
