After graduating from university, I spent several years working in a successful estate agency with offices in Frome, Trowbridge, Midsomer Norton and others. I was subsequently invited to join Friends Provident to undertake my financial adviser training, which I successfully completed. In 2001 I decided to specialise in providing mortgage advice, and joined a national high street Independent Financial Adviser as an Independent Mortgage Adviser. This gave me an initial grounding in providing mainstream purchase and remortgage advice as well as advising on buy to let advice. I also began advising on equity release mortgages at this time.
In 2005 I moved to a smaller local IFA practice as their specialist mortgage adviser covering Frome and Chippenham. This not only gave me more time to spend looking after my clients, but also enhanced the range of services I was able to offer, including commercial mortgages, bridging finance and more complex large loans. During this time, I went on to complete the Advanced Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice to help me achieve this goal.
Over the years, I have established relationships with hundreds of clients, not just locally in Somerset and Wiltshire, but stretching across the whole of the UK, many of whom have asked me for independent mortgage advice on several occasions.
My clients have included property developers and professional landlords, as well as first time buyers, home movers and remortgage customers, who need help in finding the most suitable and competitive products available. I have also developed business partnerships with a number of estate agencies , solicitors and independent financial advisers across the South West who ask me to help their clients with their mortgage needs.
In 2009 I accepted a role to work with Jones Hill to continue my role as an independent mortgage specialist. Jones Hill’s Managing Director, Brian Hill, said:

To date, I have successfully advised on and arranged over 1,100 mortgages totaling almost £150,000,000.
