If you’re retired and living on your pension, you may be finding money is a bit tight. If you own your own home and are in your mid-50s or over, you may be thinking about equity release because it could provide you with a lump sum or additional income. You might also consider equity release for tax-planning reasons.
Equity release is a way of getting cash from the value of your home. These schemes can be helpful in certain circumstances but are not suitable for everyone. For example, they can be expensive and inflexible if your circumstances change in the future and may affect your current or future entitlement to State benefits.
One way is to borrow a lump sum secured against your home. Another way is to sell part or all of your home to give you a regular income or lump sum, or both. You can continue to live there.
You will most likely need to have paid off your mortgage, or have a very small outstanding mortgage to qualify for an equity release scheme.
To be able to advise on equity release schemes, an adviser must hold an appropriate Equity Release qualification, as is held by Brian Hill and Dave Rees at Jones Hill.

Very friendly, professional and helpful! I have already recommended to few people and will still do !!
Magdalena KDave Rees helped us with a number of financial issues we had been putting off for ages. He helped us identify our main requirements and was able to give us a range of options and clearly explain the pros and cons of each. We were able to make an informed decision about the best route forward for us and if we had any queries no matter how small Dave was always easily contactable and happy to help. I recommend his services to everyone I know. Claire B
Thank you so much for everything you've done. I'd hate to imagine when it would have got completed if you hadn't chased everyone involved.
JessicaI have just read your warning about yardstick marketing etc. and am now waiting for a call from Actionfraud. You have just saved our meagre pension pots from these people. Thank you so so much.
Will have no hesitation recommending you, and will probably be back myself.
